Organic Chemist / Medicinal Chemist (PostDoc)

Description

to fill an open research position at the Center for Drug Discovery and Pharmaceutical Product Development within the Section of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry at the ZHAW for an Innosuisse-funded project. The highly motivated candidate will be responsible for the organic synthesis of active compounds for our drug discovery and development program. This involves Hit and Lead optimization chemistry, synthesis route development, focused libraries synthesis, synthesis of reference compounds and the development of structure activity relationships (SAR). The position will be for 12 months with the possibility for prolongation for additional 12 months.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry. This position requires a strong background in organic synthesis and the establishment of structure activity relationships. Experience with common analytical techniques (NMR, LCMS, IR, UV) and chromatography purification systems are required. Experience in molecular modelling, peptide synthesis and analytics, in vitro assays and efficacy studies would be a plus. The successful candidate is expected to interact within our international network of research partners.
