Michelin Recherche et Technique SA is an R&D unit within the Michelin Group, based near Fribourg in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. In this laboratory, a team of multidisciplinary scientists and engineers supports the Group by developing new materials and concepts based on advanced technologies. In the wake of a forthcoming retirement, we are looking for a:
Polymer Chemistry/Material Scientist

Description

In liaison with other R&D centres within the Group, and with selected external partners, you lead your projects autonomously. Using innovative concepts of your choice, you take part in the construction of experimental units to elaborate prototypes. Taking into account chemistry-process interactions as well as current and anticipated industrial constraints, you are in a position to demonstrate the practical potential of your innovations. Your activity includes material conception, definition of process conditions, product characterisation, the final objective being their insertion in the industrial production units of the Group.

Requirements

 PhD in organic chemistry, polymer or material science
 In-depth knowledge of at least one major class of industrial polymers
 At least 10 years of practical experience in an industrial environment (Application R&D)
 Very good knowledge of both French and English (written and spoken)
