The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – School of Engineering and Architecture is the leading education and research institute for architecture, computer science and engineering in central Switzerland.

The School of Engineering and Architecture offers distinctive study programs in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Business Engineering, these programs all contribute to the school’s applied research focus on the themes of «Building as a System» and «Intelligent Solutions for the Energy Turnaround». The School of Engineering and Architecture is one of five schools of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, which includes in total 1’500 employees and 10’200 students.

Our Bioenergy Research Group operates a combustion laboratory with advanced analytics for flue gases and combustion aerosols and for aerodynamic measurements. We conduct research projects for SNSF, BAFU, and BfE in cooperation with research and industry partners. We are seeking for three experienced and enthusiastic professionals. The position start from August 2014 or later.

Post-doc or research scientist for combustion design (80 - 100 %)

Description

CFD simulation of reactive flows implementing NOX chemistry (CFX, FLUENT) for combustion design and performing aerodynamic model experiments (PIV) for validation.

Requirements

You hold a Dr. (PhD) or Master in mechanical, process, or chemical engineering or in natural or environmental sciences with experience in CFD modeling of reactive flows, CAD for industrial design, and experimental skills.
