The institute is active in all aspects of information management, with emphasis on information representation and knowledge extraction. The different projects are largely funded by the Swiss National Fund, as well as through collaborations with businesses. Several projects have led to scientific publications, doctoral thesis and patents.

The institute also offers formation in the domain of Business Information Systems, with courses and seminars adapted to the challenges of today’s markets.

Description

Teaching - Labs and seminars for the courses offered by the institute (bachelor and master level), conducted in French or English; student support, exam preparation.

Research - The candidate is committed to achieve a PhD thesis in the following area of interest for the Institute: data analysis (big data, data mining) and knowledge representation, under the framework of a collaborative research program in the field of health.

Requirements

Academic qualifications : Master degree in one of the following domains: Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Information Systems, Operations Research; or an equivalent title.

Successful candidates are expected to manifest a proven interest for research, strong analytical skills, the capacity to work independently or as a team member, good scientific writing skills, good knowledge of French and English (understanding, communication and writing).
