To proceed in shaping the technological advance, we are looking for an experimental physicist with PhD who will strengthen our Switchgear group in the department Power Products and Sensors at ABB Corporate Research in Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland. In this position, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team and apply scientific methods, combining experimental investigations and multi-physics simulations, in order to deepen the understanding of fundamental processes in switching arcs. With the knowledge gained, you develop innovative concepts for high power direct-current (DC) switching devices. After proving your ideas in the laboratory, you support product development until market launch. Apart from the scientific investigations, you contribute to the product development and suggest improvements to our existing switchgear portfolio. | |
