We are seeking an individual for the post of

Head of Digitalisation and IT Research in the role of Innovation and Digitalisation Officer (80%–100%)

for our IT team, to start immediately or as per arrangement. In this varied and extensive position, you will report directly to the Head of IT. You will be responsible for initiating and leading digital projects. Your vocation is the identification of innovations and process optimisations, and implementing these using suitable technologies. With your analytical skills, you are able to identify the needs of the departments quickly and formulate these clearly. Performing these varied and exciting tasks requires a balance between experience, communication and the ability to implement client requirements in a goal-oriented and sustainable fashion in a multicultural, institutional setting.

Description

  • Assessing the feasibility and complexity of new or changed requirements as well as their impacts on existing or planned systems, interfaces, standards and guidelines
  • Leading technical meetings (knowledge-sharing meetings) with the clients with the goal of continually improving our services
  • Planning the implementation of new or changed requirements with internal departments and external suppliers, ensuring the quality of the implementation and that the documentation is up to date
  • Leading projects according to their objectives while complying with commercial conditions

Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree (FH, HF, university) in the field of (business) IT

  • At least eight years of professional experience with three to five years of significant, practical experience and successful implementation in (IT) project/process management with digitalisation topics combined with good commercial knowledge
  • You have solid professional experience in the fields of science and university and understand the needs of researchers
  • Your extensive IT knowledge and experience (e.g. in ERP systems, workflow/BPM solutions, interface technologies and IT infrastructure topics) enables you to think conceptionally and, as a project leader, to think holistically, plausibilise, and discuss complex topics with technical experts
  • Your strong affinity for IT and solid foundations enable you to quickly gain the required knowledge to manage the IT-related projects and devise new solutions (together with the team from the IT department)
  • You know the higher education landscape well, understand the needs and concerns of researchers and can meet the requirements with a limited budget
  • Consolidated experience in project management, ideally in an international and/or interdisciplinary context, as well as Prince2 and/or PMI certification complete your profile
  • You possess good analytical-conceptual skills and can prepare and communicate complex information in an appropriate manner for the relevant audience
  • You follow a solution-oriented approach
  • You have a very good command of German and English (written and spoken), ideally acquired in an international setting; further foreign languages are an advantage
  • High levels of independence, resilience and perseverance
  • You focus on our clients and are results-oriented
  • Open and communicative personality able to work in teams
