The University of Lausanne is a higher teaching and research institution where approximately 15,000 students and 3,000 researchers work and study. An emphasis is placed on an interdisciplinary approach.

A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the areas of human T cell differentiation and tumor immunometabolism. The position is in the laboratory of Prof. Pedro Romero within the Translational Tumor Immunology Group of the Ludwig Cancer Research Center, Department of Oncology of the University of Lausanne), in Epalinges (Lausanne), Switzerland.

Candidates are sought to join a research program focused on translating immunometabolic interventions in mouse CD8 T cells to human CD8 T cells.

Description

The research led by the candidate will focus initially on optimizing human T cell culture conditions, aiming to deliver standardized protocols allowing future pre-clinical translation for cancer immunotherapy. Modified human T cells will be thoroughly characterized both metabolically and functionally. These cells would also be eventually tested in state of the art humanized mouse models.

Requirements

The ideal candidates must have a PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or (Tumor) Immunology. Solid knowledge of T cell immunobiology and strong experience in the areas of T cell differentiation and signaling using state of the art mouse models as well as immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and gene targeting are mandatory. Experience in human T cell culture and/or immunometabolism approaches would be a plus.

Candidates must be proficient in oral and written English, excellent communication, and multi-tasking skills, and be team-oriented, proactive and results driven.

We offer

A dynamic, stimulating, interdisciplinary environment, state-of-the-art technologies and attractive employment conditions.

Funding for this post is available for two to three years.
