The research position concerns the development of Dynamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) based hyperpolarized methods for in-vitro and in-vivo imaging purposes. Project foci are on DNP hardware development and optimization as well as on novel materials for hyperpolarized imaging including nanoparticles for in-vivo imaging applications. The work is part of a close collaboration with the Institute for Biomedical Engineering at University and ETH Zurich (?url=www.cmr.ethz.ch&module=jobs&id=40782" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.cmr.ethz.ch) to develop novel hyperpolarization technology and its in-vivo imaging application. The position will be available from October 1, 2018.

The candidate holds a PhD degree in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, or biomedical engineering. Expertise in NMR physics, hardware development, advanced signal and data processing is desired. Programming skills (Matlab/Python, C(++)) for numerical simulations and data analysis and interest in both theoretical and experimental work are a requirement. Close collaboration with graduate students from both groups is essential for the success of the work. An innovative spirit, a good command of the English language, and team player skills round off the profile.
