Could you manage a team of scientists specialising in the maintenance and development of optical imagery products from satellites?

The role

We are seeking an experienced remote sensing expert to lead and coordinate our team of enthusiastic scientists, all experts in their own disciplines within a competence area. The team develops, maintains, validates and monitors the quality of optical imagery products from Low Earth and geostationary missions, and related meteorological products like Atmospheric Motion Vectors (AMV) and Lightning imagery products.

Description

You will manage the Optical Imagery Competence Area and its resources, including the functional analysis, definition and scientific evaluation of algorithms and the prototyping of processing software for the generation of level-1 and level-2 products for EUMETSAT’s current and future missions, along with the Copernicus missions exploited by us. In this role you will have the chance to interact with user communities, analyse their feedback on current products and potential new requirements. You will also support the Satellite Application Facilities (SAFs) involved in the extraction of EUMETSAT optical imagery products.
