Your Mission

The mission of the Swiss Space Center SSC is to foster the Swiss Space Community and strengthen its position and competitiveness in a global and highly dynamic environment. The center supports its members and partners and contributes to the implementation the Swiss space policy by:
  • networking Swiss actors at national and international level
  • facilitating access to space projects for established actors and for newcomers
  • providing education and training
  • promoting public awareness of space
As an entity with nationwide activities the SSC has offices at both Federal Institutes of Technology (ETH) in Lausanne and Zürich.

Space Science and Technology Advisor

Your mission :
  • provide technical and administrative support to Swiss actors in their space-related projects,
  • aid the identification and maturation of space-related products, technologies or services (spin-in, spin-off, dedicated development or applications based on space assets),
  • participate in the monitoring and assessment of studies funded by the Swiss Space Office of the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI/SSO) and managed by the Swiss Space Center to reinforce the technological and scientific capabilities of Swiss entities in the space sector,
  • implant the spark of passion into the next generation of space enthusiasts and specialists, and
  • contribute to the development of the Swiss Space Center and its flagship projects such as IGLUNA
Experience and interest in one or several emerging themes mentioned in the Swiss Space Implementation Plan §5 ( SSIP 2018 - 2020 ) would be a strong asset.

To strengthen the activities of the Swiss Space Center in technical and business-related topics

Your profile :
For this position you have a university degree and preferably 1-2 years’ work experience, ideally in the domains of Engineering or Science. A good knowledge in space technologies as well of the Swiss space landscape both at academic and industrial levels are an asset.
You focus on results, follow a structured approach to your work, and keep the overview, even in hectic moments, without losing sight of the details. To assume new tasks and constantly improve processes is in your nature, and you have imagination and motivation to bring in and implement your own ideas. You are willing to travel within Switzerland, and are able to communicate fluently in German and English.
You are self-motivated and take initiative to get things done, but above all you are a genuine team player and your open personality allows you to work with ease with persons from varied backgrounds. We would be happy to find in you the right person to become a member of our team and join in to build and strengthen the Swiss Space Community.
