Description

Your responsibilities

In your functions, you will have to :

Teaching (45%)

Six weekly hours of teaching per year

Research and other activities (45%)

The post-holder will pursue their own research in anti-doping sciences and continue to publish in peer-reviewed academic journals. S/he must be willing to work as part of the team at the Institute of Sports Studies of the University of Lausanne (ISSUL) and the Centre of Research and Expertise in Anti-doping Sciences (REDs). S/he will seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and other bodies.

Other areas of expertise

Offer independent, innovative expert analysis services in the anti-doping field to national and international sporting organisations (IOC, CAS, WADA, international federations, Antidoping Suisse, national anti-doping agencies, etc.).
Participation in continuing education

Requirements


In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills :
  • PhD in life sciences (biochemistry, biology, medicine, pharmacology or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience of taking responsibility for managing and leading a research team.
  • Research work in anti-doping sciences evidenced by a body of academic publications in well-established, peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Confirmed experience in anti-doping (ideally 5-10 years).
  • Good knowledge of the pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of doping agents.
  • Good knowledge of the physiology of sporting performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of the effects of doping agents on the human body in general and on performance in particular.
  • Ability to assimilate and easily understand analytical sciences and the technology underpinning the production of laboratory results.
  • Understanding of the legal ramifications of any analytical result in the laboratory.
  • Good knowledge of managing the quality of ISO processes and procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to talk and cooperate with experts from other specialist fields, notably in medical, legal and social sciences.
  • Experience of university teaching.
  • Good knowledge of national and international sporting organisations and anti-doping agencies.
