Research Associate for Laboratory Automatization (100 %)

The successful candidate will lead our effort toward the automation of CCBIO’s enzyme engineering platform for the generation of industrial biocatalysts.

Description

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
  • Expansion, implementation, programming and operation of a robotic workstation for high throughput enzyme screening
  • Establishment of workflows on the high-throughput platform
  • Development of novel approaches and strategies to complex problems through adaptations and improvements of automated workflows and infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting, maintenance and validation of high-throughput instrumentation such as automated liquid handlers, colony pickers, plate readers, plate sealers / peelers
  • High-throughput scientific data management, processing and evaluation
  • Providing support and training for additional users

Requirements

You have a university degree in chemistry, biochemistry or engineering and industrial experience in the relevant field including hands-on experience with robotic workstations. Training in programming is desirable and familiarity with LIMS integration is a plus. You are motivated to conduct research in a future-oriented scientific field and are interested in the technical implementation of new methods. You are enthusiastic about working in a multidisciplinary environment and able to communicate well with scientific and industrial partners.
