The postdoctoral Fellowship Program FP-RESOMUS (Resolving Solvation with Molecular Ultrafast Science and Technology) is a joint effort of the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research Molecular Ultrafast Science and Technology ( NCCR MUST ) and the German Cluster of Excellence RESOLV (Ruhr Explores Solvation), and is a Horizon 2020 Maria Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Action. FP-RESOMUS will fund two calls (25 fellowships each) for postdocs who are or will be employed in the Swiss research network NCCR MUST or the German Cluster of Excellence RESOLV. In the NCCR MUST network, the gross salary of the fellows is between Euro 5’550 – 7’600 per month (different for each partner organisation). The gross salary of a postdoctoral fellow in the RESOLV network can be calculated on TV-L E13 and ranges from Euro 3840 to 5620 per month, according to the public service’s wage agreement. For more information, please visit our website: fp-resomus.eu .

FP-RESOMUS includes more than 50 research groups from NCCR MUST and RESOLV who strive to increase the fundamental understanding of the interactions and dynamics of molecules, liquids, solutions, and solids at the molecular, atomic, and electronic level. The tools used to gain this understanding are state-of-the-art laser technology, microscopy, and simulation methods.

FP-RESOMUS aims to attract postdoctoral fellows from around the world (incoming), strengthen the exchange of postdoctoral researchers between the two networks (outgoing) and enable the return of Swiss and German researchers working overseas into a European research environment (re-integration). The structured bi-national program is set up to provide high-level, comprehensive postdoctoral training, giving experienced researchers ample opportunity to expand their professional knowledge, skills, and experience.

This fellowship program receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 801459, the Swiss National Science Foundation through the National Center of Competence in Research NCCR MUST, and the German Research Foundation (DFG) under Germany´s Excellence Strategy – EXC 2033 – Project ID: 390677874.

Description

The program focusses on individual research training in the context of research projects developed in collaboration with an NCCR MUST or RESOLV scientist who is listed under Projects on the FP-RESOMUS website. Fellows will be encouraged to undertake secondments within the FP-RESOMUS network. Fellows will also be offered training in transferable skills, and have concrete opportunities to apply their new skills. Formal courses may be selected within all participating institutions. This holistic approach is designed to benefit the career development of each fellow, as well as the receiving research groups and the scientific field as a whole.

Requirements

To be eligible for a Fellowship, the following general Maria Skłodowska-Curie Action requirements must be met:

  • A PhD degree in one of the FP-RESOMUS related scientific fields: the PhD degree must have been awarded no more than four years prior to the date of recruitment. Exceptions are made for:
