tenure track assistant professor for an associate professorship

or associate professor in statistics and quantitative data analysis in psychology

Description

Teaching (45%)

Six hours of teaching a week, throughout the year, at Bachelor (BA) and Master (MA) levels, determined in accordance with institutional requirements, including:

  • Intermediate lecture course + practical workshop in Statistics II in psychology (BA level, 56 hours, 6 ECTS);
  • Advanced lecture course + practical workshop in Statistics III in psychology (BA level, 56 hours, 6 ECTS);
  • Lecture course on a topic to be determined according to the candidate’s area of specialisation (MA level, 28 hours, 3 ECTS);
  • Seminar on quantitative research methods (MA level, 28 hours, 3 ECTS).

Supervision of MA dissertations and PhD theses.

Research (45%)

The post-holder will be expected to pursue their own research and to collaborate with members of the Institute of Psychology (IP) on joint research projects. S/he will contribute to the development of a statistical consulting and data analysis service for members of the Institute of Psychology. S/he will be expected to produce high-quality academic publications.

S/he will seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

Administrative responsibilities (10%)

In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Institute, Faculty, University or university decision-making bodies.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in psychology, statistics or equivalent;
  • Good academic teaching record in the field of statistics in psychology;
  • Wide-ranging experience of collaboration with psychology research teams;
  • Practical experience of statistical consulting;
  • Proven research record of applied statistical methods in psychology;
  • Good international networks.
