RESEARCH ASSOCIATE FOR THE PROJECT
"ERC CONSOLIDATOR GRANT LINCHPIN:
A PLATFORM TO LINK CHEMISTRY AND PHYSICS OF COLLOIDAL NANOMATERIALS"
– SALARY LEVEL 13 TV-L –

The position in accordance with Section 28 subsection 3 of the Hamburg higher education act (Hamburgisches Hochschulgesetz, HmbHG) commences on 01.04.2020.

This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed-term labor contract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG). The term is fixed for a period of 2 years with a possible extention. The position calls for 100 % of standard work hours per week**.

Description

Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.

Specific Duties:
  • develop novel micro-reactor for microwave-induced studies of chemical reaction in solution compatible with X-ray spectroscopic methods,
  • simulation of EM fields and temperature distribution in the microreactor,
  • design and develop processes for the integrated device fabrication,
  • characterisation RF figures-of-merit, on-wafer measurements,
  • help testing the device at the synchrotron,
  • work with the LINCHPIN team on time-resolved X-rays spectroscopic studies.

Requirements

A university degree in a relevant field. The candidate should have a PhD Diploma in Physics, Engineering, Material Science, Nanosciences or a related field. Hands on experience in cleanroom micro/nano fabrication of devices is required. Strong expertise on Integrated RF Components and Circuits, particularly, microwave techniques & measurements is disired. Experience with microfluidics, COMSOL multphysics is a strong plus. Excellent communication in English is necessary.
